The winners of the competition launched by the Chartreuse de Neuville and the Wilmotte Foundation are unveiled
In June, the Chartreuse de Neuville Association, in partnership with the Wilmotte Foundation, launched an international call for ideas for the redevelopment of the outbuildings and the creation of a contemporary extension on the site of the former monastery.
This unprecedented architectural competition, whose call for ideas is the first step, aims to provide the Chartreuse de Neuville with an expanded meeting space for actors of change in Europe.
A hundred young architects from around the world were registered to imagine the new cultural center!
On November 16th, the jury of the competition chose the three winning teams. This international jury, chaired by Jean-Michel Wilmotte (Architect and founder of the Wilmotte & Associés agency) and Jean-Paul Delevoye (President of the Chartreuse de Neuville Association), made of architects, urban planners, local officials and qualified personalities, selected the following projects (without hierarchical ranking):
• ENFILADE by Ioana Penescu, Andrei Theodor Ionita and Cosmin Anghelache (Romania)
• THE PRESENCE OF VACUUM, by Charles Cossement (Belgium), Marcelo Alexandre de Gouveia Cardia and João Pedro Siopa Alves (Portugal)
• COURS COMMES, by Chloé Thomazo and Jérémy Germe (France)
